myPM Merge: Installation FAQ

DOES MS ACCESS ( 97, 2000, XP ) HAVE TO BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO INSTALLING myPM MERGE?
No. However, MDAC version 2.6 or higher, and a MS JET OLE DB Provider must be installed if you intend to use MS Access Database source files.
myPM Merge uses MDAC and a MS Jet OLE DB Provider to integrate with MS Access.
MDAC and the MS Jet OLE DB Provider are usually installed when installing MS Access.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MDAC IS INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER?
If MDAC is not installed properly on your computer, myPM Merge will generate a warning message on start up.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH VERSION OF MDAC IS INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER?
After starting myPM Merge, click on the Help menu located on the Main User Interface, and select About....
This will display the myPM Merge About Dialogue, which indicates the version of MDAC installed.

HOW DO I INSTALL THE LATEST VERSION OF MDAC ON MY COMPUTER?
Download the latest MDAC version from the Microsoft web site: www.microsoft.com
Follow the instructions provided by Microsoft to install MDAC on your computer.

HOW DO I KNOW IF A MS JET OLE DB PROVIDER IS INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER?
If no MS Jet OLE DB Providers are installed, myPM Merge will generate a warning message on start up.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH MS JET OLE DB PROVIDERS ARE INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER?
After starting myPM Merge, select the Options Tab.
A list of installed MS Jet OLE DB Providers is displayed in the Jet OLE DB Provider Drop Down List.
If more than one MS Jet OLE DB Provider is displayed, select the highest version.

HOW DO I INSTALL THE LATEST MS JET OLE DB PROVIDER ON MY COMPUTER?
Download the latest MS Jet OLE DB Provider from the Microsoft web site: www.microsoft.com
Follow the instructions provided by Microsoft to install the MS Jet OLE DB Provider on your computer.

DOES MS EXCEL ( 97, 2000, XP ) HAVE TO BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO INSTALLING myPM MERGE?
No. However, MS Excel ( 97, 2000, XP ) must be installed and operating correctly prior to using myPM Merge if you intend to use MS Excel Workbook source and / or destination files.

DOES MS WORD ( 97, 2000, XP ) HAVE TO BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO INSTALLING myPM MERGE?
No. However, MS Word ( 97, 2000, XP ) must be installed and operating correctly prior to using myPM Merge if you intend to use MS Word Document destination files.

ARE ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS REQUIRED TO INSTALL myPM MERGE?
Maybe. Depending on the MS Windows version, Administrator Rights may be required to install myPM Merge.
If installation of myPM Merge fails, log in to MS Windows using an Adminstrator account and try again.

CAN MULTIPLE VERSIONS OF myPM MERGE BE INSTALLED ON THE SAME COMPUTER AT THE SAME TIME?
No. It is not possible to install multiple versions of myPM Merge on the same computer at the same time.
Doing so may result in unpredictable behaviour, and as such is not recommended.
The latest version of myPM Merge is available for download at the Midori Media web site: www.midorimedia.com.
Registered Users are informed automatically via email when a new version of myPM Merge is released.
Any existing versions of myPM Merge should be uninstalled prior to installing the latest version.

CAN myPM MERGE BE INSTALLED ON MULTIPLE COMPUTERS AT THE SAME TIME?
myPM Merge Single User Licence - No.
myPM Merge may only be installed on one computer at any one time.
myPM Merge Site Licence - Yes.
myPM Merge may be installed on any computer owned by the individual or company that purchased myPM Merge.

CAN myPM MERGE BE TRANSFERRED FROM ONE COMPUTER TO ANOTHER?
myPM Merge Single User Licence - Yes.
myPM Merge may be transferred from one computer to another computer providing it is first uninstalled on the original computer.
myPM Merge Site Licence - Yes.
myPM Merge may be installed on any computer owned by the individual or company that purchased myPM Merge.

HOW CAN myPM MERGE BE UNINSTALLED?
myPM Merge should be uninstalled using the myPM Merge Installation Wizard.
The myPM Merge Installation Wizard may be started by clicking on the Uninstall myPM Merge option located in the myPM Merge Start Menu folder,
or by double clicking on the UNINS000.EXE file, located in the myPM Merge folder.
Alternatively, myPM Merge may be uninstalled via the Control Panel Add / Remove Programs Applet.
