The MS Project Export Utility automates the process of exporting Task Baseline Data and/or Task Data from a Baseline Schedule and/or Production Schedule maintained in MS Project to an MS Excel Workbook file (the Data Source File). The Data Source File may be used with myPM SCG Enterprise to generate Project Statistics, S Curves, and Histograms.

Features

The MS Project Export Utility allows the user to:

  • Export Task Baseline Data and/or Task Data in the active MS Project file to an MS Excel Workbook file (the Data Source File) for use with myPM SCG Enterprise.

  • Create the Baseline Schedule and/or Production Schedule Entry and Export Tables in the active MS Project file.
    Entry Tables may be used to review and/or revise the Task Baseline Data and/or Task Data.
    Export Tables display the Task Fields which will be exported in the MS Project Gantt Chart View.
    The MS Project Organizer may be used to copy Tables between the MS Project Global.MPT file and open MS Project files.

  • Create the Baseline Schedule and/or Production Schedule Export Maps in the MS Project Global.MPT file.
    Export Maps define which MS Project Task Fields are exported to the MS Excel Workbook file.
    The MS Project Organizer may be used to copy Export Maps between the MS Project Global.MPT file and open MS Project files.

Installation

For detailed information on installing the MS Project Export Utility, please refer to the MS Project Export Utility User Manual.

  • Open MS Project.
  • Change the MS Project Legacy Settings to allow MS Project to create MS Excel Workbook (*.xls) files.
  • Change the MS Project Macro Security Settings to allow macros to run.

  • Open the MS_Project_Export_Utility.mpp file.
  • Open the MS Project Organizer.
  • Copy the MS Project Export Utility Form and Module to the MS Project Global.MPT file.

  • Close the MS Project Organizer.
  • Close the MS_Project_Export_Utility.mpp file.
  • Close MS Project.

Operation

  • Open MS Project.
  • Open the MS Project file containing the Task Baseline Data and/or Task Data to be exported.
  • Review and/or revise the Task Baseline Data and/or Task Data using the Entry and/or Export Tables in the Gantt Chart View.
  • Start the MS Project Export Utility (Default Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl E).
  • Select the MS Excel Workbook filename options, and Export Map to be used.
  • Click Export to create the MS Excel Workbook file (the Data Source File).
